My name is Mike Jones aka “FlashGen”; and I am an Adobe Platform Evangelist covering EMEA, based in the UK. My particular fields of expertise are Flash Professional, Flash Builder, Flash Catalyst, ActionScript, Flex and AIR – oh and I’m a bit of a component junkie. I also speak at various international events and gatherings including Flash on the Beach and Adobe MAX.
When not doing my “day job” I’m also an author, contributor and provide technical advice for various publishers and publications including .Net magazine, Friends of ED and Addison Wesley; currently I’m (still :p) writing a book on Flex 4 Component Development scheduled for release in 2010. I am also an Adobe Certified Flex and AIR Expert.
I started my Flash career in 1996 and have been at the heart of Flash Platform development ever since. Prior to joining Adobe I used to provide consultation, training and development, and produced solutions for the likes of BBC, BT, Sony, Adobe, Mars and Diesel. When I wasn’t working on paid work I used to co-organiser the London Flash and Flex Camps – free one day conferences that attract upwards of 500 people; as well as co-manage the Flex London User Group. I was also a member of the Adobe Community Professional program.
This is my personal blog so any views or opinions expressed here are mine and not those of Adobe.
