So 24 hours have past since Flash on the Beach 2006 ended. As yesterday was such a blur I didn’t get time to post up my final entry from the conference. So in the tradition of completeness here is the final entry – just slightly delayed…
Well my body’s plan to put the mockers on the rest of day 2 failed miserably. I headed to the Adobe Flash 10th anniversary party and proceeded with the tried and testd method of killing germs by imbibing alcohol! It may have worked, but by 2am I didn’t really care if it had or hadn’t :p
The knock on effect of this was that to my annoyance, I missed the first sessions :'(
However after a hot shower and copious amounts of water I headed back into the Dome complex to enjoy the final day of the conference. I did get to see Sascha’s session as well as Hoss and Chris Pelsor’s. Finally rounding off the day with Neville Brody (great session – reminded me of my old Art school days :p)
The conference came to an end with a superb raffle with absolutely tons of stuff being given away – including a Mac mini from Mike Ninness and Lynda.com. Brendan raffled off some of his artworks which looked stunning (I would have loved the Coltrane one, but obviously we were exempt). One of the more ecclectic prizes was a session board signed by all of the speakers and I had the pleasure of surprising John with another one that we, as the speakers, had all signed for him as a way of saying thanks for such a great inaugural Flash on the Beach conference.
So he’s to you John, thanks m8. You are one in a million and this can only get bigger and better.
