Hot on the heels of my post about HasGraphics.com I’ve been sent a link (thanks Smily) to OpenGameArt.org. Here you can collaborate with other like-minded game developers with the intention of creating open source video games. They have lots of great resources including 2D and 3D assets as well as audio files. They also have a selection of articles and tutorials so it’s a pretty good “one stop shop” for all your game asset needs.
The 3D resources will be of real interest to anyone who is planning on leveraging Stage3D (Molehill) to create GPU-accelerated 3D games as they not only have texture maps, but meshes for download – some are even already rigged so you just need to animate them. Well worth a visit if you ask me.
